What can I expect when I meet Pippa?
A highly qualified and experienced Registered Clinical Psychotherapist and Counsellor, Pippa is warm and relaxed, and this sets the tone for therapy sessions. She draws on evidence-based research, proven techniques and relevant interventions to provide treatment for a range of issues. Sessions are designed specifically to reflect your goals and needs.
Where is Canberra Psychotherapy & Counselling located?
The service is located in a welcoming setting in Deakin (Inner South, ACT) with parking options.
What is your fee for an individual psychotherapy or counselling session?
$180 for a one hour session. Depending on your needs a 90 minute session can be accommodated.
Are your individual psychotherapy services covered by Medicare or private health insurance?
Psychotherapy and counselling services are not yet covered by Medicare, however, a number of private health insurance companies now offer rebates for psychotherapy and/or counselling. These insurance companies often require that you are already insured for "extras" cover.
What is your cancellation policy?
48 hours notice is required via text or voice message before your scheduled session.
Do you offer a discount on psychotherapy and counselling?
Yes, I have some places available at a discounted rate. Please speak with me if you are in need of a subsidy and if any of these places are available we can negotiate a fee.
Are there any forms for me to sign before I begin therapy?
Before starting our work together you will be required to read and sign a "client consent form". This informs you of your rights and responsibilities as a client.
How many sessions do clients usually have?
That can depend on a range of factors including the nature of your issues, finances, other commitments and demands on your time. I offer both long-term and short-term work.
Do I need a referral for these services?
No, appointments for private consultations can be made directly without a referral.
